Dobeck TFI Generation II Fuel Injection Control Unit for the Kawasaki KFX450R.

Dobeck Performance TFI Generation II Fuel Injection Control Units were designed and developed to provide an affordable solution to the increasing "fun factor" or ridability of your powersports vehicle. The TFI upgrades the drivability and "fun factor" of EFI vehicles in that it selectively provides adjustable fuel enrichment at idle, light cruise, wide open throttle and during sudden increases in throttle opening. It is easy to understand, install, set up, tune, troubleshoot and even uninstall. Furthermore, it is self diagnosing and affordable.

Equally as important as what the Dobeck TFI Generation II Fuel Injection Control Unit does is what it does not do. The Dobeck TFI Generation II Fuel Injection Control Unit does not alter the factory air/fuel computer tables or pulse-width calculations (the time that a fuel injector is open and thus allowing fuel to flow). The unit simply taps into the Kawasaki KFX450R injector driver circuitry leading from the ECU to the engine and selectively appends extra pulse-width voltage to keep the injectors open the exact incremental time required for precise fuel enrichment. The Kawasaki KFX450R's on-board computer and wiring harness remain intact and no wires need to be cut. The stock air/fuel map remains intact, as does the correlation to the engine's volumetric efficiency (breathing) curve.

The Dobeck TFI Generation II Fuel Injection Control Unit for the Kawasaki KFX450R is simple to adjust with four settings on board the control unit. These dials respectively define the breakpoint between cruise and main-jet RPM; the length of time and magnitude for auxiliary transitional enrichments; and the incremental enrichment in tenths of milliseconds for the three operating ranges. Turning the dials simulates changing the adjustment of idle jetting, cruise jetting and full throttle main jetting and accelerator pump jetting on a carburetor. LED lights provide status information to the tuner. The transition from mid-range to main jet operating ranges is user selectable via a dial and LED. The TFI has simple self-diagnosing installation and returning to stock fuel is achieved by minimizing the setting.
