Elka Long Travel Elite Series Front Shocks - Yamaha YFZ450 $1,465.00

Maximum performance and adjustability for serious racers

For riders who refuse to make any compromise in the performance of their ATV, we offer our Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks. These top-of-the-line units incorporate all the expertise and knowledge acquired through our professional racing programs. For greater adjustability and better performance, choose our Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks. Although not for everyone, they are perfect for those seriously committed to the cutting edge.

high-speed and low-speed compression adjustability

This device allows for independent adjustment of the shock absorber's high-speed and low-speed compression damping stages to deliver both optimum reactivity to small bumps and the right resistance for large impacts. The high-speedvelocity damping for big hits, sharp edges and jumps can be fine-tuned independently from the low-velocity damping for turning, cornering and accelerating.

The Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks feature our Self-Sagging Device that lowers the ride height for better stability and more reactive up travel by keeping the wheels on the ground when the vehicle goes over a hole or rut.

Racing conditions can vary dramatically from one track to another; extreme differences in terrain are sometimes even found within the same track. With the extra adjustment options of our Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks, riders can adjust their suspension to react with optimal efficiency over an entire track without compromise. The Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks high-speed and low-speed compression device also helps the shock absorber run cooler than is the case with standard adjustable-compression shocks because of reduced restriction to the oil flow. This translates into less fading and longer shock life.

The Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks are offered with high-speed and low-speed compression adjustablity, with or without rebound adjustability. Most racing quads will derive the greatest benefit from the described features at the rear end, for which the Elka Long Travel Elite Series Shocks offers a single configuration: both high-speed and low-speed compression adjustability and rebound adjustability.

A-arm Brand
This is mainly for the Long Travel A-arms. If you have Standard Travel A-arms then this is not required. The reason is because all Standard Travel A-arms should have the shock mounts in the stock location. So there would be no deviation between manufacturers. Now the Long Travel A-arms are different. Each manufacturer has their shock mounts in different locations (what they feel is the best). The shock manufacturers have the shock mount locations for most of the A-arm manufacturers documented and are able to calculate the correct settings when building the shocks.
(Examples: Pro Sport, Laeger, Lonestar, etc.)

A-arm Forward Position
The forward position is determined from the stock location. Depending on the rider, bike and type of riding, some people want to change the forward position of the A-arms to help keep the front end down , balance the weight of the quad or add bite in a corner. We offer this option with these A-arms as well.

Reservoirs

Reservoirs allow for greater oil capacity for faster heat transfer and dispersion, further reducing fade.

Piggyback Reservoirs - These are attached to the shock directly.

Remote Reservoirs -Designed to mount on the frame. Attached to the shock via a hose. Some use the remote reservoirs because they may not have room for the piggyback reservoirs.

The folowing options are available for these shocks.

Shock Adjustments

Compression Adjustment - Adjusting the compression of the shock determines how fast the shock "compresses" together.

Rebound Adjustment - Adjusting the rebound of the shock determines how fast the shock returns to its normal position.

High Speed/Low Speed Compression Adjsutments - High speed/Low speed compression adjustment adds another element in tuning your suspension. It allows you to fine tune the compression adjustments depending on the size of the impact.

These adjustments should be made according to the type of riding you plan on doing.

The following adjustments are available for these shocks.
