TCS / Race Tech Front Shocks - Yamaha Raptor 660 $715.00 $675.00

TCS / Race Tech Front Shocks for the Yamaha Raptor 660.

We are excited to offer the TCS / Race Tech Front Shocks for the Yamaha Raptor 660. Not only are TCS / Race Tech shocks considered by many to be the Best in the industry, they are by far the Best Value.

One of the main reasons we hooked up with TCS / Race Tech was because they personally build each and every shock to order based on the riders specifications. This way you know that your shock is setup specifically for you. Unlike other shock companies that have generic shocks sitting on the shelf (if you are lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it) that are setup to generalized specifications.

TCS / Race Tech offers two different setup styles for the Yamaha Raptor 660. The two series are unique in their own ways with one not being better or worst than the other. Your choice will be dependant on many factors including riding type, ATV model and also your own personal preferences.

  • Race Series refers to our no-preload setup. Race Series allows the ATV to sit lower than stock without sacrificing wheel travel. ATV ride height is fully adjustable externally to compensate for various track conditions. Typically applications for the race series setup include, but are not limited to motocross and cross-country racing where a low center gravity and high corner Moto are required.
  • Sport Series refers to our preloaded setup. Sport Series is a more traditional style setup, which places the ATV at stock or similar ride heights. Typically applications for Sport Series include but are not limited to desert racing and recreational riding where maximum active travel and ground clearance are required.

TCS / Race Tech front shocks are manufactured from the finest materials available. They are custom built to your exact specifications to provide you with a superior quality suspension component designed for high performance riding and excellent durability. All shocks are assembled by hand. Valving and spring rates are selected based on your individual needs (ATV set-up, weight, ride height, riding type and skill level). TCS / Race Tech shocks feature 5/8” diameter shafts, high flow valve bodies, high quality chrome silicone springs and stainless steel teflon lined spherical bearings. Shocks with remote reservoirs also feature externally adjustable compression damping. Each set of new shocks comes with a TCS / Race Tech mounting kit that includes four high quality stainless steel worm gear hose clamps, and four water jet cut rubber damper pads.

The same quality components are used on all TCS / Race Tech front shocks whether they are standard travel, long travel or even our lower priced non-reservoir units. Because of this you can be assured of a high quality component that can be updated or changed based on increased rider weight, skill level or even if you purchase a different model ATV.

A-arm Brand
This is mainly for the Long Travel A-arms. If you have Standard Travel A-arms then this is not required. The reason is because all Standard Travel A-arms should have the shock mounts in the stock location. So there would be no deviation between manufacturers. Now the Long Travel A-arms are different. Each manufacturer has their shock mounts in different locations (what they feel is the best). The shock manufacturers have the shock mount locations for most of the A-arm manufacturers documented and are able to calculate the correct settings when building the shocks.
(Examples: Pro Sport, Laeger, Lonestar, etc.)

Please choose your A-arm width.

A-arm Forward Position
The forward position is determined from the stock location. Depending on the rider, bike and type of riding, some people want to change the forward position of the A-arms to help keep the front end down , balance the weight of the quad or add bite in a corner. We offer this option with these A-arms as well.

A-arm Travel
When you purchased your A-arms you either purchased the Standard Travel or the Long Travel setup. The Standard Travel setup utilizes the factory shock mount locations so that you can use the standard size shocks. The Long Travel setup requires the use of a Long Travel Shock (longer than stock).

Ride Height

Each application has its own desired/required ride height. MX and TT/Flat Track racing requires a lower ride height than Cross Country. Please choose which ride height you are wanting.

Required Height (Stance):

Stock (Standard Preload)
Lowered (Zero Preload)

Shortened Shock Travel

This option is mainly for the TT/Flat Track racers that required a shorter shock. TCS offers a shock specifically for this application. Although the shock uses the standard shock body, they actually shorten the shock travel internally. This allows the bike to sit lower, just as if you installed a shorter shock. These shocks also use triple rate zero preload springs which lowers the bike even more. The advantages to using these shocks is, you do not need to use a lowering kit, you get full (shock travel) suspension travel and best of all you get the quality and performance of the TCS shocks.

Shortened Shock Travel (TT/Flat Track):

Reservoirs

Reservoirs allow for greater oil capacity for faster heat transfer and dispersion, further reducing fade.

Piggyback Reservoirs - These are attached to the shock directly.

Remote Reservoirs -Designed to mount on the frame. Attached to the shock via a hose. Some use the remote reservoirs because they may not have room for the piggyback reservoirs.

The folowing options are available for these shocks.

Reservoirs:

No Reservoirs
Remote Reservoirs (+$260.00)
